Neurominds has been shaped by my lived experience long before I had the language for it. As a professional ballet dancer, I unknowingly gave my ADHD brain exactly what it craved. Ballet isn’t just art, it demands precision, repetition, balance and disciplined focus. Research shows that dance supports neuroplasticity, strengthens neural pathways linked to attention and coordination, and can enhance mood and psychological resilience. In that structured, focused and joyful environment, I built resilience and focus, although at the time I had no awareness of why it worked so well. Only later did I understand how powerfully the right environment can support a neurodivergent mind.

Years later, my son Jack was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, and we were lucky to work with an exceptional occupational therapist, Sheila Matthews. She introduced a perspective that has shaped everything I do: some neurodivergent individuals need safe, external stimulation, and rather than forcing a person to fit in, we adapt the environment to support them.

When I was diagnosed in my late 50s, these experiences came full circle. Structured movement, which is now hot yoga, and consciously regulating my environment remain central to how I sustain my focus and wellbeing.
Today, Neurominds specialises in Adult ADHD and Autism, including AuDHD presentations, while supporting the wider neurodivergent spectrum. Through neuro-affirmative coaching, CPD-accredited training and structured learning pathways, we design support that helps people move from coping to clarity and build sustainable success in both life and work.
