The Back-to-School Reset - Self-Paced

Neuro-affirming 10 Step back-to-school reset for parents - Includes a course workbook.

The first morning back at school can feel like a shock to the entire family, even the dog!
Suddenly, everyone needs to wake up earlier, get dressed, eat, brush their teeth, find matching shoes, pack their bags, remember their lunch, manage their time, and get out the door before 8 am without setting the kitchen alight, having a meltdown, or threatening divorce!

For neurodivergent children and their parents, that shift back can place huge demands on sensory processing, emotional regulation, working memory, time awareness and task initiation.

For parents and carers, it can mean using every bit of energy before their working day has even begun.

To help families navigate that transition without needing a fire extinguisher, Neurominds has developed a practical parent video designed to prevent leaving everything until the last minute. We have also included a course workbook for you.

Parents will learn to:

  • Understand the impact of the brain and nervous system responding to the demands of returning to school
  • Offer limited choices and autonomy within boundaries
  • Recognise sensory and emotional overload
  • Recognise sensory and emotional overload
  • Support working memory and task initiation

  • Reintroduce school-specific routines
  • Create a launchpad for bags, shoes, keys and essential items
  • Gently shift sleep and waking times
  • Reduce unnecessary morning decisions
  • Prepare key tasks the night before
  • Use pictures, checklists and visual timers
